Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Creative Writing Tutor to support learners in developing their writing skills and fostering their creativity. This role involves guiding students through various writing exercises, encouraging expressive storytelling, and helping them improve their overall communication abilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching skills, enjoy working with children and young people, and have a keen interest in nurturing creative talents. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ educational journeys while honing your tutoring expertise.

Duties

Deliver engaging and personalised creative writing lessons tailored to individual student needs
Assist students in developing story ideas, character development, and narrative structure
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their writing techniques and confidence
Support learners in understanding different styles of writing, including poetry, fiction, and non-fiction
Foster a supportive environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special educational needs or learning differences
Maintain organised records of student progress and lesson plans
Collaborate with parents or guardians when necessary to discuss student development and goals

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in creative writing or related fields
Experience working with children or young learners is highly desirable
Knowledge of special education practices and the ability to adapt lessons accordingly
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of varying ages and abilities
Strong organisational skills to plan engaging lessons and track student progress
Passion for literature, storytelling, and fostering creativity in others
Ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners
