Description
Supporting the development and care of children. To this end, supporting and assisting the team in the day to day aspect of the setting. Working towards key worker responsibilities
As part of the team at Kiddywinks Nursery, your day to day duties will include:
To ensure a safe but stimulating environment in which the child can learn through participation.
To work as part of a team under the direction of a team leader.
To establish and uphold all Nursery policies including health and safety and child protection.
To be responsible for learning journeys for appointed key children
To support the business plans for each area.
To attend regular staff and management meetings.
To ensure that the Nursery is at all times suitably staffed.
To be responsible for positive communication with all staff.
To assist in implementing a consistent, effective behaviour management policy
Liaise with the parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress during the day and be available for parents to meet with regarding key children.
To attend regular parent’s evenings and social events
To participate with core training when provided by management
Implement personal development plans set.
To be responsible for effective communication and liaison between Nursery staff and parents
Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage throughout the day including record keeping, planning and ensure daily observations are taken on all children.
Ideally candidates will hold a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner or equivalent Early Years qualification. Candidates who are able to demonstrate significant working experience gained in a nursery setting may also be considered.
Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check and at least two written references.
Entry requirements
Level 2 in Early Years and/or relevant transferrable working experience.
Training to be provided
Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
Maths and English Function Skills if required.
You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship.
As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare
Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning.
You will gain an early year's practitioner qualification with further opportunities for training, development and permanent employment upon completion.
