Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Builder/Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills across various trades, enabling them to contribute effectively to diverse building projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience in construction, maintenance, and renovation work, committed to delivering high-quality results in a safe and efficient manner.

This role is offered on a self-employed basis initially with the potential to move to PAYE for the right candidate.

Duties

Constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using various materials and techniques.
Carrying out masonry tasks such as bricklaying, blockwork, plastering and groundworks.
Operating hand tools (hammers, saws, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws, grinders) safely and efficiently.
Fabricating custom components or structures as required for specific projects.
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills

Proven experience in masonry, plastering, groundworks etc
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools confidently.
Strong understanding of construction processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to different tasks.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for precise workmanship.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a supportive environment.
Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary.
Commitment to health & safety standards on-site.

This position is suitable for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills across multiple trades within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality building projects.

Pay: £24.00-£26.00 per hour
