We are looking for an confident, dynamic and empathetic person to join our Patient Services Team. This position is offered at 27 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, with access to additional hours.
Our Patient Services Team play an integral role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of Silverdale Practice. The successful Candidate will provide high-quality administrative and front-of-house support, delivering an excellent standard of patient care and communication at all times.
We work closely with our partner organisation LineIn, who provide our patient telephony services and our in-house Patient Services Team provide on-site reception and information services to our patients.
Key objectives include:
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Supporting and Signposting patients to appropriate services and appointments.
- Supporting patients with digital tools such as NHS App, on-line consultations and self-book links for appointment booking
- Handling patient enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Registering new patients in line with practice protocols.
- Ensuring patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity at all times.
- Following the opening and closing Practice policies to ensure security of staff and buildings.
- Keeping up to date with new information, policies and protocols.
- Check and store deliveries promptly and appropriately.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure the reception areas remain clean, organised, and welcoming throughout the working day
- Process repeat prescription requests and promote online prescription services

Qualifications & Training
- GCSE Maths and English (Grades 9–4 / A–C) – Essential
- Good IT literacy with experience using Microsoft Office packages- Essential
- Customer service training
- Knowledge of NHS systems (e.g. EMIS or SystmOne)
Experience
- Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment - Essential
- Experience working in a GP surgery or other NHS setting - desirable

About Silverdale Practice
We are a two site practice based in the heart of Burgess Hill, West Sussex. We provide Primary Care Services to a registered list of 13,650 patients. We are owned by 5 GP Partners who work with a multi-disciplinary team including associate GPs, Paramedic Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomists, GPAs, Pharmacy Technicians, Care Coordinators and highly trained administrative support team. The Practice is led by a highly experienced senior management team.
