Full job description

Overview:

We are currently seeking a company accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in our head office in Belfast and will be responsible for financial management along with other duties.

Reporting to the Managing Director your duties will include:

Preparation of monthly management accounts via OBDC import & ROI subsidiary in Quickbooks
Year End Audit papers preparation
Supervision of Accounts Administrator role
Maintenance of sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger mapping, reports, reconciliations & month end processing
Bank reconciliations
Weekly & Monthly payroll processing including maintenance of all regulatory Pension provisions
Setting up all BACS/FPS bank payments for authorisation by MD
NI & ROI VAT and statutory returns including EC Sales List & Arrival/Dispatches Intrastat submissions
Filing Customs Supplementary Declarations via the Trader Support System
Maintenance of all Fair Employment records & submission of Annual Return
Filing all ONS Returns
Oversee Credit Control
Creating and maintaining all internal job listings
Closing off all Warranty Claims
Overseeing all wholegood records – including – entering order – receiving into stock and invoicing
Overall responsibility for all IT + management of internal and supplier systems
KPI Reporting and planning
Preparation and maintenance of all reports required for suppliers
Create and monitor service contracts
Ongoing business improvement in all departments
Ad hoc duties as required

Requirements:

To be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) but part qualified may also be considered with extensive experience
Proven experience working as an accountant
Proficiency in accounting software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work to a deadline
Have a flexible approach to work

Salary:

£40,000 - £55,000 negotiable and commensurate with experience
