We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced individual to undertake the vital role of Emotional Wellbeing Support within our school community. This is an important position focused on promoting the emotional health, safety, and overall wellbeing of our pupils, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will already have relevant experience in a similar role and demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding processes and graduated levels of support, including CAF (Common Assessment Framework), CIN (Child in Need), and CP (Child Protection). You will play a key role in identifying pupils in need of additional emotional support and coordinating appropriate interventions in collaboration with staff, external agencies, and families.
A key aspect of the role will involve planning and delivering targeted small group interventions to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing. Through structured sessions, you will help children develop essential skills such as emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and positive relationships. You will create a safe and nurturing environment where pupils feel comfortable to express themselves, reflect on their experiences, and build coping strategies. These sessions will be tailored to meet individual and group needs, ensuring meaningful progress and improved engagement in school life.
You will be a compassionate, patient, and nurturing individual with a genuine passion for supporting children. Your ability to build positive, trusting relationships will be essential in helping pupils feel safe, valued, and supported within the school environment.
In addition, the role involves working closely with parents and carers, offering guidance and signposting to relevant external services and support networks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are therefore essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
The successful candidate will also be organised and proficient in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365 and CPOMS (or similar safeguarding systems), to maintain accurate records and contribute to effective case management.
Application packs are available to download above. Completed applications should be returned to the school by 12pm on the closing date shown above, via [email protected].
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
