Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our small professional pet care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog and cat breeds, ensuring each pet looks and feels their best. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal welfare and customer satisfaction are paramount. The Dog Groomer will play a vital part in maintaining the health, hygiene, and appearance of our furry clients.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate grooming techniques and products
Trimming nails, cleaning ears, and expressing glands as necessary to promote pet health and comfort
Cutting and styling fur according to breed standards or customer preferences
Monitoring each dog’s behaviour during grooming sessions to ensure safety and minimise stress
Maintaining a clean and organised grooming area, including sanitising tools and equipment after each use
Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming needs and offering advice on pet care routines
Handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into baths
Keeping detailed records of each pet’s grooming history and special requirements

Requirements

Previous experience in animal grooming is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of animal care practices and understanding of different breed-specific grooming standards
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
Ability to handle dogs and cats safely and compassionately, including those with behavioural challenges
Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks associated with larger dogs and equipment handling
Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of hygiene and safety in the grooming environment
A genuine love for animals coupled with patience, kindness, and professionalism
