Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in electrical systems and cost control to contribute to out projects in the New Build housing sector

Please live within 20 miles of UB9 5EN and have prior experience in an estimating role

Duties

Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop comprehensive electrical cost estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and scope.
Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of all estimates, assumptions, and pricing data for future reference.
Assist in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation processes.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of current industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Experience in cost control techniques and budget management is highly desirable.
Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
