We specialise in recovery care, reablement and age related disease care. We blend this care with positive therapies and pastimes to promote physical exercise , mobility and general well being. Our activities promote inclusion and independent choice and improve dexterity, mobilty and memory. Activities such as gardening and light hearted competitions are included to encourage movement, focus and concentration.

Overview
The Activities coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility. This position is responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and needs of the residents. The Activities coordinator will work closely with residents, their families, and staff to create a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.

Duties

Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Coordinate various recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that encourage participation and foster a sense of community.
Communicate effectively with residents to understand their preferences and needs, ensuring inclusivity in all activities.
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that activities are suitable for residents with specific care requirements, including those needing dementia care.
Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance the overall resident experience.
Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve the activities programme.
Train and supervise volunteers or activity assistants to support the delivery of programmes.

Skills

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with seniors and their families.
A genuine passion for senior care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards residents' needs.
Experience in a care home or similar environment is highly desirable.
Ability to plan and organise diverse activities that cater to varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programmes that stimulate interest among residents.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
