About Us
T Nevill & Co Ltd is a specialist metal fabrication company focused on producing high-quality metal products using a broad range of techniques to meet prominent design briefs. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our ability to deliver bespoke solutions for our clients.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised CAD Drawing Assistant to support our design team with both drawing administration and technical drawing tasks. This is a varied role that sits at the intersection of design and office administration, making it ideal for someone who has a background or strong interest in design and is looking to develop practical experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with our CAD Technician and General Manager, helping to maintain drawing records, prepare documentation, and assist with producing basic CAD drawings. Full training will be provided on our systems and processes, though some prior experience in a design-related field is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organise drawing libraries, ensuring files are correctly named, stored, and version-controlled
- Assist with the preparation and formatting of drawing packs and technical documentation for the production team
- Support the CAD Technician with basic 2D drawing tasks and mark-ups using Autodesk Inventor or similar software
- Manage drawing registers and track the status of live and archived drawings
- Liaise with the workshop and design team to ensure drawing records are kept up to date
- Assist with the coordination of drawing revisions and ensure changes are communicated clearly
- Help prepare project folders and documentation for new fabrication jobs
- Provide general administrative support to the design function, including data entry and file management
- Support the wider team with ad hoc tasks as required

- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail and a pride in accurate, well-presented work
- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team
- Relevant qualifications in design, engineering, or a related discipline (desirable but not essential)
What We Offer
- A friendly, supportive working environment with a skilled and experienced team
- On-the-job training and the opportunity to develop your CAD and technical drawing skills
