Full job description

Wedding & Events Duty Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Wedding & Events Duty Manager to oversee the smooth delivery of weddings, banquets, and special events.

Our Sales Team and Head Office will manage all event planning and client communication in the lead-up to each event before handing everything over to you. From that point, you will take full responsibility for ensuring every event runs seamlessly, delivering an exceptional experience for our guests.

This is a hands-on operational role, with the majority of hours being evenings and weekends, in line with our event schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Take full operational responsibility for weddings and events on the day.
Lead, motivate and manage the front-of-house and banqueting teams.
Coordinate all aspects of event service to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience.
Act as the main point of contact for bridal parties, event organisers and suppliers throughout the event.
Liaise closely with the Banqueting Kitchen team to ensure efficient food service and communication.
Work with the Sales Team and Head Office during the final lead-up to each event to ensure a seamless handover.
Deliver training, coaching and support to banqueting staff.
Ensure high standards of presentation, service and customer care are maintained at all times.
Resolve any issues or last-minute changes calmly, professionally and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a wedding, banqueting or events management role.
Previous experience within a hotel, hospitality or restaurant environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
The confidence to take ownership of an event and make decisions under pressure.
A proactive, calm and professional approach when dealing with unexpected situations.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
A strong understanding of banqueting operations and wedding service is essential.
