Job Profile
Prepper, painter and polisher, preferably experience within an aerospace/defence/automotive/manufacturing environment particularly with carbon fibre parts and ale to prep and polish.
Job Responsibilities
- Understanding the preparation process required in order to achieve a high paint standard.
- Carry out the masking of components and component preparation prior to painting.
- Colour matching to customer samples.
- Paint selection to suit application
- Spray painting primers, coloured base coats, top coats and cosmetic finishes
- Experienced in working on and preparing carbon fibre parts to a high level.
- Quality checks on completion.
- Adhere to all requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
- Ability to produce high-quality parts.
- Follow work instructions.
- Meeting the customer requirements
- Polishing gloss finish components to a high-quality
- Additional work, e.g. jigs – parts set
Essential Skill Set
- Preparation of various substrates ready for primer
- Preparation of primer for topcoat
- Able to use filler for pinholes, voids and shapes
- An eye for detail and hand skills
- Able to read and understand the job pack
Desirable Skill Set
- Automotive model development and body shop / paint shop general skills
- Experienced in working on and preparing carbon fibre parts to a high level
