Location: Broadford, Isle of Skye

Type: Full-Time

Pay: £14.5 per hour + gratuity + accomodation

Overview

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and passionate Chef to join the kitchen team in our restaurant Ith Do Leor in Broadford, on the Isle of Skye. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new opening from the beginning and help establish a well-organised, supportive kitchen environment that values teamwork, quality food, and work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service. You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard. Previous kitchen experience is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and kitchen standards
Ensure food is consistently prepared, cooked, and presented to a high quality
Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Monitor food quality and report any issues to the Head Chef or senior kitchen staff
Assist with stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
Work efficiently during busy service while maintaining attention to detail
Support the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service

Qualifications

Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred but not essential
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
