Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our retail premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the store environment, preventing theft, and maintaining a secure shopping experience for customers and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail setting, providing essential security services to protect assets and uphold safety standards.

Duties

Conduct regular surveillance of the store using CCTV systems and physical patrols to identify any suspicious activity or security breaches.
Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorised access and theft, implementing loss prevention strategies effectively.
Respond promptly to incidents, including theft, disturbances, or emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken in accordance with company policies.
Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation of security activities throughout each shift.
Assist customers and staff with enquiries related to security procedures or safety concerns.
Conduct first aid if necessary, providing immediate assistance until emergency services arrive.
Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when required to uphold safety protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques is advantageous.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while handling difficult situations effectively.
Good observational skills with keen attention to detail in identifying potential security risks.
Valid first aid certification is desirable; willingness to undertake training if not already qualified.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to complete detailed reports accurately.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. This position offers a vital role within our retail environment, ensuring safety for staff and customers while protecting company assets through vigilant security practices.
SIA door supervisor or security guarding license is required
