Full job description

Background:

Kane Engineering’s primary business activity is the design & manufacture/ assembly of low voltage electrical switchboards & control panels. The company’s products are supplied into the construction sector, locally and internationally.

Main duties:

· Assembly of modular steelwork.

· Fitting components to mounting plates & assemblies.

· Fabrication - Steel, Aluminium & Plastics.

· Assembly & installation of configured copper busbars systems.

· Other associated activities include, drilling and fixing of plastic shrouding & engraved labels, preparing panels for factory-test acceptance, cladding & wrapping of completed product for despatch to customer.

· Stores and materials handling

Employee requirements:

Essential:

· Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop as part of the production team.

· Ability to work quickly & accurately according to Supervisor’s instructions.

· Ability to work to dead-lines as part of a team.

· Competence in basic engineering activities, including accurate measuring & setting out of components, drilling & tapping of steel mounting plates, experience in the use of pillar drill, grinder, jigsaw & any other power tools.

Desirable:

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
