Stagecoach Cumbria & Lancashire operates 440 vehicles over 6 sites and our Barrow in Furness team are looking for people from a background in vehicle mechanical / electrical engineering to be part of our growing team. You may be in a truck / HGV, rail, light commercial or automotive setting now, but fancy a change of vehicle to enhance your skill-set.
Likewise, if you’ve got PCV experience, you’ll still find new opportunities to learn given the variety of our fleet.
Our Barrow Depot operates a varied range of vehicles from minibuses and Double Deckers daily, we operate Alexander Dennis, Scania and Optare vehicles.
You’ve probably seen some of our vehicles driving around Furness and surrounding area, transporting our fantastic customers across the Cumbria.
Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out – and as part of our engineering team, you’ll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that. It’s a really important role within our depot, so we’ll make sure you’re as looked after as our vehicles are!
Don’t worry if you’ve not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) – we’ll train you on everything you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of fellow Electricians, Mechanics, Technicians and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.
And interestingly it’s not all depot-based work – you could well find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won’t always be the same four walls you’re looking at!

The majority of our Engineering Managers and Directors are home grown talent – so that could very well be you in the not too distant future!
