We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Compliance Officer to join our Corporate Support Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in health, safety and compliance who is looking to develop their career within a growing business.
Reporting directly to the Corporate Support Manager, you'll work across all departments to help maintain our processes, health & safety, compliance systems, support operational teams and ensure we continue to meet our legal, regulatory and certification obligations.

The Role
Working as part of the Corporate Support Team, you'll help coordinate and maintain the company's compliance framework across health & safety, quality, legislation and industry accreditations.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with managers across the business, assisting with audits, maintaining management systems, supporting compliance activities and identifying opportunities for continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety & Environment
· Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the company's Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
· Maintain company health and safety policies, procedures and documentation.
· Assist managers with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
· Carry out workplace inspections and compliance audits.
· Assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses.
· Monitor corrective actions and ensure actions are completed.
· Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness communications.
· Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
2. Quality Management Systems
· Maintain the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
· Coordinate document control and ensure company procedures remain current.
· Plan and undertake internal audits.
· Support external certification audits.
· Maintain audit schedules, action plans and continual improvement records.
· Produce compliance reports and KPI information.
3. Compliance & Governance
· Support compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM Regulations 2015.
· Maintain the company's legal and compliance registers.
· Monitor changes in legislation and industry best practice.
· Maintain compliance records and supporting documentation.
· Support operational teams with compliance requirements.
· Assist with compliance reviews.
4. Industry Accreditations
Coordinate and maintain:
· Constructionline Gold
· Safe Contractor
· Client pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs)
· Supply chain compliance records
· Supporting documentation relating to Building Safety Act compliance
5. Continuous Improvement
· Assist with reviewing and improving company processes.
· Monitor compliance KPIs and management information.
· Support the implementation of new procedures and initiatives.
· Assist with tender submissions relating to health & safety, quality and compliance.
Work collaboratively with all departments to embed best practice
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
Essential
· NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
· Approximately 2–5 years' experience within a Health & Safety, Compliance, Quality or similar role.
· Experience working within construction, engineering, building services or a related industry.
· Experience working with management systems such as ISO 9001.
· A good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
· An awareness of CDM Regulations 2015.
· An awareness of the Building Safety Act 2022.
· Good organisational and administrative skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Good Microsoft Office skills.
· A positive attitude and willingness to develop professionally.
Desirable
· Internal Auditor qualification.
· Experience supporting Constructionline, Safe Contractor or similar accreditation schemes.
· Experience within passive fire protection or fire safety.
· Membership of IOSH or another relevant professional body.
