PEGS Volunteer Role Description - Voluntary Service Advisor
About Us
PEGS is a lived-experience-led organisation supporting parents, carers, and professionals impacted by Child to Parent Abuse (CPA). We’re passionate about creating long-term change in how CPA is understood and addressed across the UK. Everything we do is trauma-informed, person-centred, and grounded in empathy, collaboration, and authenticity.
Why Volunteer at PEGS?
- Help make a meaningful difference through lived-experience-led work.
- Join a supportive, values-led team and culture.
- Seize opportunities for personal development.
- Support families and help to create lasting change.
Aim:
PEGS is aiming to recruit a team of volunteers to help increase the support that we currently offer to parental figures experiencing CPA so that we are able to reach even more families.
We are seeking to create a number of Volunteer Service Advisor roles. The Volunteer Service Advisor will be aiding our team of Parent Practitioners who help parents who have been impacted by CPA, ‘to keep things together,’ through 1-1 support, a range of daily practitioner-led drop-in sessions and a wide variety of workshops. The Volunteer Service Advisor will be contacting parental figures, who have been referred into our service, to help update them in regards to the progress of their referral and to also offer advice about the services that PEGS can offer. This support will help us to strengthen our service and continue working towards a future where no parent or carer feels alone in what they’re experiencing.

Disclaimer:
This role involves working directly with parents who are experiencing Child‑to‑Parent Abuse (CPA). Due to the emotionally demanding nature of this work and the potential for vicarious trauma, the role is not suitable for individuals who are currently experiencing CPA themselves or who have been personally impacted within the past 12 months.
We recognise, however, that many parents deeply value the opportunity to support others and contribute to the work of PEGS. If this applies to you, we warmly encourage you to get in touch to explore alternative volunteering opportunities that may be a better fit at this time.
If you are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you!
