HGV Class 1 Driver – Steel Fabrication Deliveries

Location: CMF Ltd – Crossways, Stephenson Road, Basingstoke RG21 6XR
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: Competitive – based on experience

CMF Ltd is an established structural and architectural steel fabrication company supplying projects across London and the Home Counties. Due to continued growth and our recent relocation to Basingstoke, we are looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering fabricated steelwork and associated materials to construction sites and clients, primarily throughout the Home Counties and surrounding areas.

Most deliveries are day runs with regular working hours and limited overnight stays.

Duties Include

Safe loading, securing, transport, and delivery of fabricated steelwork
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
Ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours and transport regulations
Assisting with loading/unloading where required
Representing CMF professionally on customer and construction sites
Maintaining delivery paperwork and records

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Experience with construction or steel deliveries preferred
Good understanding of load restraint and site safety
Forklift, HIAB, or crane experience advantageous (but not essential)
Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
Good communication skills and professional attitude
