Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Football Coach with an enhanced DBS to join our sports programme to teach one hour in Basingstoke on Thursdays after school. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing players’ skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive sporting environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire young athletes and contribute to their personal and athletic growth. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong interest in sports coaching and teaching.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging football training sessions tailored to different age groups and skill levels
Develop customised training programmes to improve technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness
Foster a positive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual respect
Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development
Organise team practices, matches, and tournaments in accordance with league schedules
Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to relevant health and safety guidelines
Act as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment during all coaching activities

Experience

Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably within football or similar team sports
Demonstrated ability to teach technical skills effectively to diverse age groups
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan sessions and manage team logistics
Previous experience working with youth or amateur athletes is desirable
Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
