Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in masonry, carpentry, and the use of various hand and power tools. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Duties

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary before plastering
Mixing plaster to the correct consistency using specialised tools
Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other structures with trowels and hawks to achieve a smooth finish
Repairing damaged or uneven surfaces by patching or re-plastering
Taping and seaming
Operating power tools such as mixers, drills, and sanders safely and effectively
Utilising hand tools including trowels, floats, and brushes to complete detailed work
Assisting with masonry tasks such as bricklaying when required
Collaborating with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, and welders to ensure project continuity
Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during the execution of duties

Skills

Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as masonry or carpentry
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to plastering work
Knowledge of general masonry techniques is desirable
Ability to operate specialised equipment safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to deliver high-quality finishes
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary
Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach towards safety and quality standards
