We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide essential assistance and care to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to promote independence, safety, and well-being within a supportive environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills in care provision and support planning. The position is paid and suitable for those committed to fostering positive outcomes for clients of all ages, especially children.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and household tasks
Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with families, healthcare professionals, and support teams
Support children with special needs in educational and recreational activities, ensuring their safety and engagement
Drive clients to appointments, activities, or outings as required, maintaining safe driving practices
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure consistent support and understanding
Maintain accurate records of support provided, progress notes, and any incidents or concerns
Utilise IT systems to update client information and document support activities efficiently
Foster a positive environment that encourages independence, confidence, and social inclusion

Qualifications

Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
Valid driving licence with clean driving record preferred
Knowledge of childcare principles and support plans is advantageous
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping purposes
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting individuals to achieve their goals
Ability to work flexibly within scheduled shifts and adapt to the changing needs of clients
