Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Gardener to join our team and assist with maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various gardening tasks, ensuring the upkeep of gardens and green areas to a high standard. Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred, but a keen interest and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Responsibilities
- Utilise hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes to carry out planting, pruning, and general garden maintenance
- Operate power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and effectively
- Support landscape maintenance activities such as mowing, edging, weeding, and fertilising
- Contribute to the planting of new flora, shrubs, and trees in accordance with garden plans
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing debris and ensuring tools are stored correctly
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during gardening activities
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening or horticulture is advantageous but not essential; a genuine interest in plant care and landscape design is important
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems used in garden maintenance
- Knowledge of growing techniques, plant health management, and landscape aesthetics is desirable
- Previous involvement in landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, planting, fertilising, and weed control will be beneficial
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
Pay: £16.00 per hour
