Project Draughtsman

We work with well-known long-standing Main Contractors, offering our clients a professional and bespoke service along with providing excellent customer service.
As a member of our Drawing Office you will use CAD design packages to design a variety of products (bespoke steel fabrications, balustrades, shelters, canopies, and walkways) in mild steel and stainless.
Duties to include:
· Interpret client requirements to produce general arrangement drawings.
· Liaise with the clients, when required, (clarification of drawings and requirements).
· Produce accurately detailed fabrication drawings to allow the fabrication of a structurally sound, bespoke product manufactured from the correctly specified materials.
· Be commercially minded enough to analyse and arrive at the most cost effective solution.
· Liaise with fabricators when required during the manufacturing stage to ensure that the designs are accurately released.
· Liaise with clients, sub-contractors, architects and structural engineers to comprehensively understand the project requirements, from design to completion.
· Have an understanding of manufacturing technologies, processes techniques and installation procedures.
· Adhere to in-house EN 1090 systems and standard drawing office procedures for design processes and project manufacturing.
· General drawing office administrative duties as and when required.
Ideally qualified in Auto Cad 2 & 3D with experience of working with and designing steel fabrications using Advanced Steel. Good working knowledge of fabrication/welding and general manufacturing techniques essential.
