Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled stainless steel tank fabricator to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality metal components and assemblies, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. The successful applicant will be proficient in various hand and power tools, with a strong understanding of sheet metal and welding techniques, including TIG welding. A background in mechanical knowledge and basic maths will support accurate fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate components
Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Performing TIG welding and other welding techniques as required to join metal components securely
Working with sheet metal to create precise parts for various projects
Using mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication processes
Ensuring all work meets quality standards and safety regulations
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
Assisting in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures
Able to work to deadlines

Qualifications

Proven experience in tank fabrication and TIG welding
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Knowledge of sheet metal work and assembly processes
Strong mechanical aptitude coupled with basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
Ability to read technical drawings
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding are preferred
