About Us
Benholm is a family business, not just in ownership but in attitude. We value lasting relationships, nurturing them as we do our plants and flowers. We can’t wait to welcome you to our growing clan.
This role is as unique as you! We’re growing our team of Creative Installers, immediate start available!
Hours of work: normally between 6:00am – 3:00pm, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some evening/night work and weekend work can be required from time to time.
You’ll normally start and end your day at our modern Head Office, which is easily accessible from the M8/M9 motorways by car and is circa. 3 miles from Bathgate and 5 miles from Falkirk.
Sometimes you’ll be required to carry out an installation further afield and this may require driving a van for a longer distance (e.g. to London) and stay away overnight or for a few days. Accommodation costs and additional compensation package is provided.
A salary range of £33,000 to £35,000 is on offer in addition to an attractive benefits package and job security.
The family owned and values driven Benholm team, provide clients with the finest real and artificial, domestic and exotic plants, for offices, retail, hospitality and public sector spaces. We’ve established a deep-rooted reputation as an industry leader over the last 30 years and continue to grow our business and our talented team.
Reporting to the Head of Production & Installations, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, delivery and installation of Benholm products and services at clients’ sites. You’ll get great satisfaction in completing each installation using your creative problem-solving skills to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the overall expectations of both the sales person and the customer.
Products range from exotic plant displays to entrance arches, framed moss wall panels, bespoke built-in planters to high level trailing features, giant green walls to bespoke branded signage.
We’d like to hear from you if you have excellent customer service skills, creative flair, you care about delivering consistently high-quality work and have experience or training in joinery/carpentry or significant experience in practical DIY. If you have experience in horticulture or floristry too that would be beneficial.
If you don’t have any previous experience with horticulture, floristry or biophilic design, that’s ok, we’ll set you up for success with full training, support and a comfortable uniform!
We would expect you to be pro-active, take full responsibility for any installation you have assigned to you, have a can-do attitude to finding solutions, and be a clear communicator. Your attention to detail is admirable and you’d be willing to work at heights if needed (e.g. working off a step ladder etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
You will have full responsibility to see each job through to completion, managing any additional team members you’ve been assigned or have requested, ensuring minimal waste of resources to ensure jobs are installed at expected profit levels and never leaving a job unfinished even if it means putting in more time to complete it.
You’ll be required to complete all necessary reports for each installation and be able to play an important part in suggesting ways our processes and services can continue to be improved.
A Company van will be provided for use during the day as the job entails driving to your assigned client sites to deliver and install Benholm products, so a full UK Driving Licence is essential with no more than 5 points and no unspent criminal convictions.
Loading and unloading of vans, making sure all products are secure and well protected, and taking responsibility to ensure you have everything required with you including all associated tools & equipment.
You’ll have a variety or work, including but not limited to, the installation of plant pots, hanging baskets, moss walls, living walls and any associated signage or structures.
Whatever you’re doing, it’ll be interesting and fun and you’ll be part of a fabulous business that supports your career development.
We’re an agile team, so you may be asked to support in other areas of the business, like production or maintenance, but only when you’re trained to do so.
We’d like to hear from you if you have some or all of the skills above. It’s an ideal time to join this highly successful and well-established growing organisation.
Please note, we will need to check your driving licence and are required to complete a Disclosure Scotland check on you for this role.
