Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coded Welder with a strong background in welding mezzanine floors and other structural components in compliance with EN1090 standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in structural steel fabrication, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, MAG welding on structural steel components, mezzanine floors, Cantilever racking and other structural fabrications as required.
- Work in accordance with EN1090 execution class 2 standards, ensuring compliance with all quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent understand of technical / manufacturing drawings, and follow all WPQRs, WPQS as appropriate welding specifications.
- Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify weld integrity.
- Operate welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with Designers, Fabricators, Supervisors, and Managers to meet project deadlines.
- Carry out weld repairs and modifications as required.
- Ensure proper material handling, preparation, and finishing of welded structures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Experience in using Press brake, semi-automated band saw, Automatic and handheld Plasma cutter.
- RWC certified is preferable but not essential.
Skills / Person Profile
- Coded Welder certification (EN1090) execution class 2.
- Proven experience in welding mezzanine floors and structural steel components.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and metallurgy.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience with NDT methods (preferred but not essential).
- CSCS Card or other relevant site safety certification (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on-site and in fabrication workshops as required.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Experience in a manufacturing background is desirable.
- Strong team player, with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Impeccable organisation and time management skills
- Able to prioritise and act decisively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to self-motivate against demanding targets and tight deadlines.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
HOURS OF WORK:
06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 – 22:00. Monday – Friday with a 30-minute lunch. The hours of work are subject to change to suit the needs of the business.
HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT:
Holidays You will be entitled to 23 holidays per year in addition to any statutory bank holidays. Three days will be expected to be saved for closure over the Christmas period. Holidays are accrued throughout the current year.
