We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Medical Secretary to join our Private Hospital team. In this key administrative role, you will provide high‑quality secretarial support to clinicians and play an important part in contributing to the Organisational Development elements of our Development Strategy. About the role

What You’ll Do

Provide comprehensive secretarial support to medical consultants and clinical teams
Ensure accurate and timely production of clinical letters using audio typing skills
Support the delivery of Clinical Administration Team objectives through effective administration and communication across the hospital and external stakeholders
Act as a key point of contact for patients, consultants, and internal teams, and external healthcare organisations, ensuring a polished and professional service
Maintain well‑organised systems, diaries, and workflows to support the smooth running of the discipline

Skills and experience required

Significant previous experience in a Medical Secretarial role
Educated to GCSE level or with equivalent experience
Relevant professional qualifications such as AMSPAR or Medical Secretarial/Secretarial certifications
Strong customer care and communication skills, with a professional and patient‑focused approach
Excellent IT skills across Microsoft Office and clinical systems
Proven ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks under pressure
Highly methodical and organised, with outstanding attention to detail
A strong team player who is also confident working independently and using initiative
