Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and providing excellent patient care. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a professional environment committed to patient safety and wellbeing.

Duties

Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirements
Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient information
Provide guidance and support to patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects
Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
Support medication administration processes under supervision, where applicable
Manage stock levels, including ordering and stock rotation to prevent expiry of medicines
Respond to patient inquiries professionally, offering clear advice within scope of practice

Requirements

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient care and support
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy practice are preferred but not essential
A compassionate approach towards patients and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
