Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in machining processes. The ideal applicant will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Set up and programme CNC turning machines, ensuring accurate operation according to technical drawings and specifications
Monitor machine performance during production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of CNC equipment to ensure optimal functioning
Interpret technical drawings and CAD files, including SolidWorks, to determine tooling and machining parameters
Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for auxiliary tasks such as assembly or repairs
Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and accessories for machining operations
Perform basic maths calculations to determine measurements, tolerances, and feed rates
Assist with plastics injection moulding processes when required
Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations

Qualifications

Proven experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines
Experience using Mazak, Siemens or Fanuc controls.
Knowledge of Aerospace engineering.
Knowledge of turning with driven tooling advantageous.
A strong team ethic and willingness to communicate effectively with your peers
Knowledge of grinding, milling, and welding techniques is desirable
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes
Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, assembly, and machine maintenance
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and tooling management
Basic maths skills for precise measurement and calculations
Experience working with plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous
Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
