Full job description

Job Summary
Accumix Concrete specialises in supplying ready-mixed concrete. There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our team. This position reports directly to the Managing Director and has become vacant due to the current incumbent relocating.

The Management Accountant will provide accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and support the Managing Director and Senior Management Team with the management and implementation of all financial systems and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of financial activities. The successful applicant will be very professional, commercially aware, cost conscious and well organised. The Business is willing to consider hybrid working and requirements will be discussed at interview stage.

This is a full time position offering a starting salary of £30,000, rising to £34,000 after first 12 months provided that agreed KPI’s are met.

Responsibilities

The role will see you get involved with a range of management accounting duties including:

Directing and processing creditor and debtor administration in line with established financial procedures.
Updating accounting ledgers with processed financial data relating to debtor, creditor and nominal transactions.
Producing Management Accounts, including extraction of information to monitor cashflow forecasting
Monitoring adherence to financial procedures.
Raising purchase orders, matching and coding appropriately.
Processing of purchase invoices.
VAT return preparation and reconciliation, including adjustments and monthly submission
Credit Control
Any other such duties commensurate with the scale and nature of the post, as may be required

Key Skills / Qualifications

Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role within the financial services sector.
Experience of SAGE 50 Cloud Accounts Professional software is essential
Proficiency in other accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero software is desirable
Excellent IT skills with experience of working with Microsoft Office packages Word, Outlook and Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Accurate data entry skills
Ability to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines
Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve queries
Self-motivated and determined to succeed
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Friendly, pro-active and flexible team member
Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role

Essential: Minimum education level for English and Maths GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent

Essential: Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) – Minimum Level 2
