The Role
As a Field IT Support Technician (MSP), you will be responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support to our clients, carrying out installations, resolving technical issues, and supporting IT projects. You will work closely with our Service Delivery Team to ensure clients receive an outstanding level of service and support.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesService Delivery & Technical Support
- Deliver professional on-site and remote IT support to clients.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Carry out maintenance visits, installations, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
- Perform site surveys and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Configure and deploy PCs, laptops, printers, networking equipment, and VoIP systems.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high technical and professional standard.
Ticket & Documentation Management
- Manage and update support tickets using our PSA/ticketing system.
- Record all work accurately and maintain detailed service notes.
- Keep client documentation up to date and accurate.
- Ensure tickets are progressed efficiently and escalated where necessary.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding the status of their support requests.
Project Work
- Assist with IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and new client installations.
- Support Microsoft 365 implementations and cloud-based solutions.
- Work alongside internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Teamwork & Communication
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Follow schedules provided by the Service Delivery Manager and Service Coordinator.
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Adhere to company security policies and best practices.
- Contribute positively to the team's success and development.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Field Service, IT Support, or MSP environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- DHCP
- DNS
- Group Policy
- File and Print Services
- Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems.
- Good understanding of networking technologies and infrastructure.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support.
- Knowledge of VoIP telephony systems.
- Experience using remote support and monitoring tools.
- Strong hardware installation and troubleshooting skills.
- Structured cabling experience with excellent cable management standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to pass a DBS check.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within the healthcare sector.
- Knowledge of Digital X-Ray systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using Datto PSA and RMM.
- Experience with ShadowProtect backup solutions.
- Experience supporting multi-site business environments.
