Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Gym Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our fitness centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for all members and staff. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is desirable, but full training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy contributing to a positive community space.

Duties

Clean and sanitise gym equipment, including weights, cardio machines, and mats to prevent the spread of germs
Maintain cleanliness of changing rooms, showers, toilets, and communal areas
Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly throughout the facility
Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and disinfectants as needed
Ensure all surfaces are free from dust, dirt, and stains
Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly

Requirements

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness are essential
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good organisational skills and reliability
Flexibility to work during designated hours, including early mornings or evenings if required
A proactive attitude towards maintaining hygiene standards in a busy environment
