TMC Computing – After-School Club Assistant in various areas of Hampshire. We have schools in Havant, Fareham & Whitely, Gosport and Totton currently. You would be placed somewhere convenient for you.
Term-time Only | 1.5 Hours per day | Mondays and Fridays - With an aim to cover all days of the week by January '27.
Do you enjoy technology and working with children? Want a fun, flexible role running after-school computing clubs?
TMC Computing is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic team member to support sessions in one of our growing after-school clubs. You’ll be working alongside the club leader to run engaging, hands-on sessions in Minecraft Education and more in the future (i.e scratch, robotics, film-making).
This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys computers, wants experience working in schools or simply loves helping children learn new skills.
The Role
As an After-School Club Assistant, you will:
- Support in delivering fun, (pre-planned) organised computing sessions.
- Help children aged 5–13 with simple tasks, activities and instructions.
- Set up laptops/equipment before sessions and pack away afterwards with the assistance of the club leader.
- Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork and confidence.
- Ensure the session runs smoothly and safely.
- Be fully child protection trained and first Aid trained.
Times:
These vary in different schools but expect to be available between 3pm and 5pm just in case.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a tech expert — just confident with basic computer use. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient and great with children.
- Happy to give instructions to the club assistant.
- Supportive and able to assist with small groups or individual pupils.
- Organised and helpful, especially with equipment.
- Reliable, punctual and positive.

- If you do not have a valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate, TMC Computing are happy to cover the cost of this, however, if you leave before 12 months of completing the course, you would be subject to some or all repayment. Please let us know if you are happy to proceed on this basis.
