We are now looking for a commercially minded, fully qualified Senior Management Accountant to join our talented finance team at our Kirby Muxloe head office. This is a high-visibility role offering direct, regular exposure to our Group Financial Controller and CFO, where your insights will directly influence strategic business decisions.

The Role: What You’ll Do

As our Senior Management Accountant, you will take full ownership of our end-to-end monthly management accounts process. You won't just be crunching the numbers—you will be interpreting them, presenting them to senior leadership, and business-partnering with Heads of Departments across the company to drive performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Management Reporting & Insight: Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, detailed P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting. You will lead monthly review meetings with the Group FC and CFO, providing clear commentary and constructive challenge.
Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial advisor to non-finance stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights.
Financial Control & Compliance: Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, maintain internal financial controls, and take ownership of VAT computations and HMRC submissions.
Audit & Statutory Support: Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing schedules, coordinating queries, and supporting statutory accounts preparation.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify risks and opportunities, support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, and drive process efficiencies to enhance our reporting capabilities.

Who We Are Looking For

This role is perfect for a resilient, solutions-focused accountant who thrives in a fast-moving, multi-site environment and has the confidence to challenge the status quo.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
Experience: Strong management accounting experience gained within retail or a similarly fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Technical Skills: Proven experience owning end-to-end management accounts, solid understanding of UK VAT/statutory requirements, and advanced Excel skills.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of presenting financial data clearly to senior stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

Experience specifically within discount/value retail or multi-site operations.
Experience actively coordinating and supporting external statutory audits.
