About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Fazila Foods Ltd, part of the James Hall group. This is a key role within our Quality/Technical team, ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food products that meet company standards and legal requirements.
Our site manufactures a range of halal frozen foods including samosas, spring rolls, pizzas, wraps, sandwiches, and ready meals.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
You’ll play an important role across the full manufacturing process, from development through to finished product. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out quality checks (e.g. temperature, labels) and site audits (GMP, hygiene, CCP verification)
- Supporting food safety, quality, and Health & Safety standards across site
- Assisting with internal and external audits (BRC, SALSA, EHO, customer audits)
- Managing traceability systems, including mass balance and documentation
- Investigating customer complaints and supporting continuous improvement
- Calibrating site equipment (e.g. probes, scales)
- Preparing and submitting samples for laboratory analysis
- Supporting product trials, taste panels, and quality attribute assessments
- Working collaboratively with production, NPD, and wider site teams

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of quality systems, HACCP and CCPs
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
- Basic Food Hygiene
- Level 2 HACCP
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with BRC or SALSA standards
- Knowledge of food hygiene policies
- Degree (or equivalent) in a food-related subject
- Experience in high-care or high-risk environments
