The company maintains ISO‑accredited quality and environmental systems, a strong commitment to client relationships, and a culture based on reliability, safety and technical excellence. We are looking for a skilled Civils and Buildings Estimator to join our growing Estimating team.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing accurate, detailed cost estimates for a wide range of civil engineering tenders. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing, robust tender submissions and efficient tender management from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage tenders from receipt through to submission and post‑tender clarifications.
· Analyse tender documents to understand client requirements, project scope, risks and opportunities.
· Undertake take‑offs and prepare material enquiries using drawings and specifications.
· Arrange the preparation of Bills of Quantities where required.
· Obtain competitive material quotations and prepare subcontractor enquiries with appropriate risk allocation.
· Highlight requirements for external engineering or architectural design input.
· Keep the estimating system updated with current plant, hire and buying rates.
· Carry out site visits to assess project constraints and requirements.
· Estimate labour, materials, plant and time needed to produce full project costings.
· Maintain organised records, work schedules and detailed tender reports.
· Seek alternative buying options to support competitive tendering.
· Prepare commercial documentation for tender handovers.
· Attend PQQ, mid‑tender and post‑tender interviews when required.
About You

· Have strong technical expertise in Civil Engineering and Buildings Estimating.

· Possess strong construction knowledge, including planning and methodology.
· Be proficient with IT systems and ideally experienced with Causeway or similar estimating software.
