CPS Group is a premier supplier in the South Coast providing Sound, Lighting, AV, and Staging equipment for Hire, Sales, Installation, and Event Technical Production.
Role Description
An on-site and CPS premises based role installing and maintaining Audio, AV, lighting, and technical systems, supporting customers and staff in the resolution of technical problems. The main part of this role will involve the installation of and maintenance of technical equipment and associated cabling/hardware on customer’s sites. This work must be carried out to the highest standards. The role will also include servicing and maintaining installations after completion. The successful candidate will benefit from in-house technical training, which will be provided by our resident skilled engineers, as well as 3rd party training for various H&S elements.
Job Summary and Most Frequent Duties
- On-site Installation, Technical Systems Works & problem solving/fault repair of technical systems
- On-Site equipment maintenance, servicing, and PAT testing
Working Conditions
Based from CPS' main office in Christchurch, this position predominantly involves work on customer’s sites and may sometimes involve some out of hours / evening work, or working away from the local area necessitating overnight stays. Some flexibility is required for daily start/finish times to align with venue access. Weekend work is very occasionally necessary.
Performance Standards
The successful candidate needs to be well-motivated and independent with a solid technical background. They will work in a tidy and professional manner with good regard for safe and compliant working practices. They will be capable of working well as part of a team, or independently as required by individual projects.
Essential Qualifications
- Reasonable electrical knowledge/experience
- Experience in general installation works, including mounting hardware, cabling & containment systems
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong soldering skills
- An eye for detail involving planning, thorough checking of work and of arrangements, and ability to question in a logical manner
- Ability to prioritise workload based on the business and customer requirements whilst on site
- Well-presented, Self-motivated, and confident with an outgoing personality
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and other staff members
- Dependable and reliable with good timekeeping skills
- Full literacy and computing skills
- Own method of transport to and from CPS' offices
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to understand project drawings & schedules
Desirable Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of our industry and associated equipment/system topologies to a good level
- Electronics qualifications / experience
- Electrical qualifications
- ECS/CSCS Skills Card
- Knowledge of the leisure and events industry
- DIY experience
- Van Driving experience
