Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Working Foreman specialising in carpentry to oversee and coordinate construction projects on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, supervising experience, and a solid background in carpentry. This role involves leading teams, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout all phases of construction. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in delivering projects efficiently while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry teams on-site, ensuring tasks are completed to specifications and within designated timeframes
- Coordinate daily work schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines
- Oversee the quality of work performed by team members, providing guidance and technical support as needed
- Enforce health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections to identify and mitigate risks
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and smooth workflow
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labour hours for reporting purposes
- Assist in planning project phases using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong understanding of construction processes and techniques
- Supervising or management experience in a construction environment is essential
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling software is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coordinate teams effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Valid management certification or relevant qualifications in construction or carpentry is preferred
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining safety standards on-site
Pay: £60,000.00 per hour
