Hourly Rate - £16.56 per Hour
Bonus - Up to £25 per day quality of service bonus.
Job purpose
Varied started and finish times with a minimum of 48 hours per week required.
As a Driver reporting to the Transport Supervisors, you will be responsible for operating a variety of chain skip vehicles safely, efficiently, and professionally. Your primary duties will involve collecting construction and demolition waste from our customers and delivering it to a to our Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in Swinton, Manchester.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a solid understanding of vehicle operations and the types of waste you’ll be handling. Familiarity with Manchester's roads is essential, along with the ability to provide top-notch service, even when faced with challenges on-site.
Additionally, all our drivers are expected to have a thorough knowledge of current traffic laws, legislation, and compliance standards, which must be followed at all times. If you’re committed to safety and service, we’d love to have you on our team.
Main Duties: –
1. Complete all daily vehicle checks and fill digital vehicle pre and post shift checks at the start of shift and end of shift.
2. Where appropriate ensure all CCTV cameras are working.
3. Report all defects including tyre issues to Fleet Office.
4. Complete all allocated work within the working day.
5. Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
6. Maintain regular communication with the Fleet & Operations Office and report any issues/incidents immediately.
7. As a brand representative of the Company behave in a polite and professional manner at all times.
8. Fill vehicles with fuel on return to yard at end of the day.
9. Present Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
10. Report to the Operations Office at the end of the day for de-briefing and advice on following day’s work.
11. Ensure all goods are safely secured.
12. Ensure your vehicle (and where appropriate trailer) is kept in a good, clean condition.
13. Load and unload the vehicle adhering to Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments.
14. Work from other depots within the group and operate other vehicles when required.
15. Wear Fresh Start Waste Services Uniform at all times and correct PPE.
16. Report all accidents and incidents immediately and obtain details as required.
17. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
