We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Floor Layer and Polysafe Specialist to undertake specialised flooring installations and surface protection projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring, construction, and surface finishing, with the ability to work independently while delivering high-quality workmanship across a variety of local sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and ensuring surfaces are suitable for flooring installation.
* Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
* Install a variety of flooring types, including vinyl, safety flooring, and specialised Polysafe products, in accordance with specifications and drawings.
* Apply surface treatments, sealants, and protective coatings where required.
* Complete finishing works to a high standard, including trims, welds, and detailing.
* Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation plans.
* Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and professional work environment.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in floor laying, particularly safety flooring and Polysafe installations.
* Strong construction and carpentry knowledge.
* Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Relevant flooring qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
Essential:
* Must have your own van and tools.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Ability to travel to sites in and around Camberley.
