Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Copper Fields School, Gunnislake, PL18 9EH
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (£13.25 per hour) (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Rota: Monday 8.30am – 5.00pm | Tuesday to Friday 8.30am – 3.45pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

At Copper Fields School, we're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. Working alongside experienced teachers and a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing, engaging and inspiring learning environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and understood.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning and achieve their individual goals.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences that meet a range of additional needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, participation and self-belief.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development using consistent and nurturing approaches.
- Help prepare stimulating classrooms, resources and activities that inspire curiosity and engagement.
- Contribute to the implementation and review of individual education and support plans.
- Monitor progress and share observations to help shape the best outcomes for every pupil.
- Support educational visits, enrichment activities and wider learning opportunities.
- Promote high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing ideas and contributing to a supportive team culture.
About You
