About Us
Conquest School is a new Independent Special School opening in Boston Lincolnshire. The school will be registered for 50 pupils aged 7-19 with a range of SEMH needs including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD and sensory processing differences
- Speech, language, and communication needs
- Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
- Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Other neurodiverse profiles

The Role
As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, adaptive, and creative lessons that meet the diverse needs and learning styles of pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring lessons are differentiated for a range of abilities.
- Use assessment for learning strategies and formative assessment tools to monitor progress and inform next steps.
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement, using person-centred strategies and restorative approaches.
- Collaborate with specialist support staff (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour specialists, and others) to create holistic learning packages.
- Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in every pupil, equipping them with the skills to navigate both learning and life.
- Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development through tailored, evidence-based interventions.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcomes.
- Participate in continuing professional development, staff meetings, and in-house training.
- Act as a keyworker for a small group of pupils, providing pastoral care and being the main point of contact for parents and carers.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, educational visits, and school events.
About You
We are seeking a passionate and reflective practitioner who demonstrates:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in a specialist or SEN environment.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current approaches to inclusive education.
- Commitment to personalised and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- An ability to remain calm, optimistic, and solution-focused, especially in the face of challenge.
- Creativity, adaptability and a willingness to try new approaches to teaching and learning.
- Dedication to personal and professional development and engaging with ongoing training opportunities.
