We are seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to support the Financial Reporting function of a privately owned group. The role will involve assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts, financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance across multiple entities.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or experienced finance professional looking to develop their technical accounting experience, particularly in statutory reporting and group accounting.
This role would suit an ACCA/ACA part-qualified or AAT qualified accountant currently working in practice who is looking to move into industry.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare working papers supporting the preparation of Group accounts in accordance with IFRS where applicable.

Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for all subsidiaries in compliance with current UK GAAP.

Perform fund accounting for Trusts and assist in the preparation of Trust accounts.

Support accounting processes related to investment management activities.

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.

Assist with the preparation of corporate and personal tax computations.

Review accounting records at the entity level on a monthly basis.

Provide management accounting and financial management support for Meyrick Estate Management, including recharges.

Reconcile intercompany transactions across Group entities.

Assist with drafting financial reports for the Group.

Undertake ad hoc tasks and financial project work as directed by the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Reporting Manager, or Finance Manager.

Ensure full compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements
Essential
-
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or relevant accounting experience

Strong understanding of accounting principles

Good Excel skills
-
Experience preparing reconciliations and working with financial data.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable
-
Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT

Experience with statutory accounts preparation

Familiarity with UK GAAP and/or IFRS
-
Experience working with multi-entity or group structures.

Knowledge of Corporation Tax
