CS Gardens are looking for someone to join our Gardening team. We are looking for an experienced gardener with minimum 2 years full time work in the industry.
We are very standards driven so expect you to have 100% reliability and attendance, be well presented and polite always and strive to deliver the best standards of work possible at all times.
Successful candidate needs to hold a full UK driving license and be able to travel to our yard in Chobham.
Will be responsible for maintaining sites to high standards working in tandem with senior gardeners and team leaders to ensure jobs are delivered daily on time and to standard.
Key Responsibilities
- General garden maintenance (weeding, pruning, mowing, hedge cutting, planting)
- Safe use of basic tools and machinery (mowers, strimmers, hand tools)
- Following schedules and instructions from senior staff
- Assisting with site clean-ups and waste removal
- Ensuring high standards of tidiness and customer satisfaction
- Reporting issues, plant health concerns, or site hazards
Requirements
- Basic horticultural knowledge
- Good physical fitness and 100% punctuality
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather
- Willingness to learn and improve skills
- Positive attitude and teamwork
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of 2 or 3 Monday to Friday (Saturday work available every week also) operating across Surrey and London regularly maintaining a portfolio of gardens from small to large estates.
Progression Path (Performance-Based)
- Gardener: Start by mastering core gardening skills and supporting the wider team.
Progression to Senior Gardener: Typically 6–12 months based on skill development and reliability.
- Senior Gardener : Take on more complex horticultural tasks and help guide junior staff.
Progression to Team Leader: Usually 12–18 months depending on leadership ability, punctuality and consistency.
- Team Leader : Lead a team on-site, manage daily tasks, and communicate with clients.
Progression to Contracts Manager: Around 2–4 years based on leadership strength and wider operational capability.
- Contracts Manager: Oversee multiple teams, manage client relationships, schedules, and contract delivery.
Progression times are guidelines only and vary based on performance, attitude, and business needs.
