Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bench Joiner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, assembling, and finishing high-quality wooden components and products. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of joinery techniques. The successful applicant will contribute to various projects, ensuring that all work meets safety standards and client specifications. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about carpentry and fabrication to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Fabricate wooden components according to detailed drawings and specifications
Assemble furniture, cabinetry, or bespoke joinery items using hand tools and power tools
Operate various hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and drills with precision
Use joinery techniques including dovetailing, mortising, and dowelling to ensure strong joints
Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, and sealing to achieve a high-quality finish
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Collaborate with project managers and other trades to meet project deadlines

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry work within a joinery or construction environment
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery equipment
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling in a construction or workshop setting
Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to workshop or site environments
Previous experience working on bespoke furniture or architectural joinery projects is desirable
