Research Institute
The successful candidate will join the Applied Health and Wellbeing team in the Research Institute for Health and Social Care. You will work alongside a thriving community of physical activity researchers at the forefront of applied research in whole-school and whole-system physical activity for children and young people. Our research team works alongside other areas of excellence, such as the Mental Health Research Centre for children and young people. Showcasing our standing in the field, we organised the world’s first whole-school physical activity conference in 2024.
What you will be doing:
Supporting delivery of school-based research activities.
Preparing and organising research equipment and materials.
Assisting with transport, setup and organisation of fieldwork activities.
Supporting collection of physical activity and measurement data.
Assisting with questionnaires and research administration.
Maintaining accurate records and inventories.
Supporting schools, participants and partner organisations during research visits.
Working collaboratively within the wider research team.
Qualifications/ experience:
Essential:
GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent relevant experience)
Good organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and follow procedures
Desirable:
Experience supporting research or data collection activities.
Experience working with schools, children, young people or community organisations.
Interest in public health, physical activity or school-based research.
