Full job description

As a CFD Methodology Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of translating cutting-edge simulations into real-world aerodynamic performance. You’ll push the boundaries of numerical methods, fine-tune turbulence models, and elevate solver accuracy - ensuring virtual results mirror what happens in the wind tunnel and on track.

Your work will shape the way the car is designed, how efficiently it slices through the air, and how race strategies are executed - playing a crucial part in keeping Red Bull Racing ahead of the competition.

We are looking for someone who can:

Efficiently develop CFD workflows targeting aerodynamic performance and process efficiency.
Align CFD simulations with wind tunnel and on-track data to improve reliability and fidelity.
Refine CFD processes and tools to deliver more reliable and faster aerodynamic predictions.
Collaborate with aerodynamicists and engineers across various departments to interpret CFD results and continuously adapt methodologies.

The successful candidate will have:

Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in CFD, Aerodynamics, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics, with strong meshing and solver experience.
Deep knowledge of turbulence modelling, boundary layers, and numerical methods, with correlation to wind tunnel and track data.
Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux for automation, CFD meshing, pre and post-processing, and efficient workflows.
Experience with HPC environments, parallel CFD, and high-performance simulation in fast-paced settings.
