Job Overview:
The HR Assistant supports the smooth running of the HR department by handling administrative tasks across the employee lifecycle. Duties include, however, not limited to:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
· New starter administration
· Induction planning and coordination
· Probation period administration
· Liaison with recruiting manager and other relevant stakeholders
· Publishing vacancies, applicant shortlist and scheduling interviews
· Support with reference requests
Employee Records:
· Employee data entry and maintenance in SageHR and master records
· Maintain employee CPD records
· Record all absence types in relevant systems
· Produce reports from SageHR when required
· Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, following data protection principles
Offboarding:
· Leaver administration
· Liaison with relevant stakeholders
General:
· Interpreting and applying HR policy and procedure
· Organising meetings and taking minutes
· Provide support in ER cases
· Provide employee support with SageHR queries
· Coordinate and contribute to fundraising events
· Taking ownership for own professional development, staying current with employment legislation and HR best practice
· Administer employee benefits
Projects:
· Support with HR projects including automation of documentation
· Contribute to the quarterly newsletter
· Support with the creation of employee documentation
Personal Specification:
· Prior HR experience, admin experience with HR elements or level 3 CIPD qualification
· Within close proximity to site for being full time office based
· Comfortable working at pace and able to change direction of tasks on demand
· Strong administration, organisational and time management skills
· Attention to detail
· Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
· Able to be discreet, professional and confident handling confidential information
· Knowledge of key employment legislation
· Familiarity with HR software
· Minimum one year HR experience Microsoft office skills
