Room Leader – Early Years (Seals Room)

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Room Leader with a passion for Early Years education to join our welcoming nursery setting in Braunton.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly dedicated team, helping to provide a stimulating, fun, and safe environment where children can thrive. As Room Leader of our Seals Room, you will support the management team in maintaining and enhancing our wonderful setting while leading your room with confidence and care.
We are committed to delivering a high standard of care, learning, and play in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Please note, we operate all year round and are not term-time only.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports children’s emotional and physical development.
- Lead the Seals Room and support the wider nursery team in delivering high-quality childcare.
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood learning and development.
- Observe, assess, and monitor children’s progress, providing support and feedback where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain excellent nursery standards and daily operations.
- Support safeguarding and SEND practices in line with nursery policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification (essential).
- Have previous experience leading or supporting a small team.
- Be passionate about working with children in an Early Years setting.
- Have a good understanding of EYFS, SEND, and Safeguarding.
- Be committed to ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
